How to Plan a USD 200 Trial Plant Order

Plan a wholesale cactus or caudiciform trial order from USD 200. Choose a useful assortment and confirm packing, shipping costs and payment options.

A small first order can help a nursery, importer or specialist retailer evaluate plant selection, communication and shipment preparation before planning a larger purchase. Trial orders at China Arid Plants start at USD 200. The confirmed quotation defines the plants, packing, shipping arrangements and final payable total.

The most useful trial is designed around a purchasing question. Decide what you want to learn before selecting the assortment, rather than filling the order with unrelated plants.

1. Decide what the trial should demonstrate

You might want to check a particular cactus size band, compare caudiciform forms for your customer base or understand the work involved in receiving bare-root plants. Choose a small number of priorities that your team can evaluate clearly.

Write down the expected specification for each priority: plant identity, size range, quantity, presentation and selection method. If shipment preparation is part of the evaluation, identify the packing details and documentation you need to review before dispatch.

2. Select an assortment that reflects a future order

Choose plants that you may actually purchase again. If the next order is intended for retail, request the size range and visual consistency that fit your display. If you are considering selected caudiciform specimens, discuss the individual photo approval process rather than evaluating only a general batch image.

A very broad assortment can make a small trial difficult to assess. Ask which requested lines are currently available and whether they can share a practical packing and shipment arrangement. Agree any substitutions before the order is finalized.

For specification examples, read our wholesale cactus buying guide and caudiciform plant sourcing guide.

3. Confirm what the USD 200 starting point covers

Do not assume a starting order amount includes delivery. Ask for a written breakdown of the plant selection, packing, any agreed document arrangements and freight. The quotation or invoice confirms the final total and the costs included for your order.

Small shipments can still have fixed preparation or transport charges. Compare the proposed format and route for the actual assortment rather than estimating freight from the plant price alone. If the full quotation exceeds your budget, discuss changes to the selection or shipment plan before paying.

Plant selection Line items, quantities, size ranges and any agreed replacements.
Preparation and packing Shipment format, protection and included or separate charges.

4. Use the payment method for the confirmed order total

For orders of USD 500 or less, we support PayPal, credit card or bank transfer. For orders above USD 500, payment is by bank transfer. An order totaling exactly USD 500 falls within the first group.

The quotation or invoice provides the final payment instructions. Check the agreed total, currency and order details before payment. The website’s starting trial amount does not fix the final cost of a particular assortment.

Read our wholesale ordering and payment terms alongside the written quotation for your order.

5. Record the result before planning a larger purchase

Keep the confirmed plant list, selection photos, packing details and shipment records together. On arrival, document the package condition, verify counts and compare the visible plants with the agreed specifications. Send any questions promptly under the terms agreed for the order.

Review which specifications worked well, how much receiving and potting work was needed and whether the assortment suited your intended buyers. A trial provides information about that particular order; future availability, packing and shipment costs still need to be confirmed when you scale up.
